My name is Kobi Blodgett; I’m a notary public commissioned in the state of Florida who specializes in remote online notarizations (RON). As a notary, I’ve been appointed by the state of Florida with the responsibility of notarizing documents from all across the world that are for use within the United States of America. I’ve had more than five years of training and experience within the field starting from shadowing as a witness to notarizing many documents myself.

What Is A Notarization?

A notarization is a process that prevents fraud during the signing of official paperwork. The prevention of fraud is exercised by a trained individual—the notary—by verifying the identity of the signer to be true, ensuring the signer understands what it is that they are signing, and confirming that the signer is signing their document(s) of their own volition.

Remote online notarizations are notarizations that take place electronically using audio/visual communication services akin to Skype and Zoom. These notarizations take fraud prevention even further by conducting KBA (Knowledge-Based Authentication), which involves the signer answering a brief list of simple questions created by a system that pulls from public records to verify their identity. Technology is also used to verify the authenticity of a signer’s proof of identity, such as a Driver’s License or Passport.

Why Remote Online Notarization?

Remote online notarization enables a great deal of leniency and comfort for both me as the notary and you as the signer. RON allows notarizations to be conducted from the comfort of your own home with privacy, as well as more support for your own schedule. From sending documents, scheduling/rescheduling, to finally notarizing the document(s), aspects that usually take place over the course of an hour or possible days only takes minutes with RON, saving you time, money, and stress.
